Open Position: Support Engineer

We are now looking for a Support Engineer. We offer a full-time position, 40h/week, with an opportunity to add paid passive on-call support hours on top of your regular working hours (wholly optional and usually after the first six months of employment).
We are flexible and support remote work but it is expected that our Support Engineers from Zagreb work from the office a few days per week.
- Location: Zagreb, Croatia (or remote)
- Type of work: Full-time, 5 days a week + optional passive on-call support outside regular working hours.
- Type of agreement: Permanent Employment Work Agreement with a 6-month probation period or Student Agreement.
- Info for students: if you start as a student, you can expect the same treatment as employed team members. Students who work with us full-time can get paid leave days after 6 months of work if certain requirements are met. Permanent employment is possible.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- 2nd and 3rd level customer support:
- Analyzing and processing issues reported by UniqCast customers (Jira issue tracking is used)
- Gathering all required information for successful issue reproduction
- Coordination and communication with clients
- Coordination with 3rd level internal support or with 3rd party technology vendor support
- Local testing and validation of new SW releases (backend and client)
- Delivery of new application versions to UniqCast customers:
- Building, testing & delivery
- Backend system software upgrade & configuration change tasks :
- Local testing and preparation for production upgrades
- Production SW upgrade or configuration change tasks
- Alert monitoring:
- Analyzing and resolving service alarms
- System monitoring to detect potential system anomalies (Grafana/Prometheus)
- Internal planned support tasks:
- Alerting and monitoring improvements
- Security improvements
- Advanced troubleshooting
- Optional (paid) - passive on-call support outside of regular working hours
We expect from ideal candidates to be well acquainted with some of these technologies and have the capability to master those they have not yet used:
- Experience with Linux OS is required (at least basic level)
- Scripting: knowledge of scripting languages is big plus (at least Bash)
- Analytic skills in analyzing and understanding reported problem
- Networking experience (TCP/IP) is a plus
- Docker service virtualization experience is a plus
- Orchestration platforms on which our applications work: Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
- Experience with various databases (We use: PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Experience with CI/CD - ( Our stack: Bitbucket (Git), Jenkins, Jira)
- Experience in IPTV/OTT or other video delivery systems is big plus
